An alloy plate adapter was fabricated by Brunton Engineering to mate the Model 262 Getrag to a
standard Volvo M56/M47 bellhousing. The adapter is 32mm thick to provide the correct engagement
of the gearbox input shaft into the end of the crankshaft. The adapter was machined with a centre
boss to locate the Getrag front housing, and a machined dowel was fitted to correctly locate the
box and resist torque loads. The adapter configuration allows the Getrag to be simply unbolted
from the bellhousing, leaving clutch components in place.
